SIRS Issues Researcher
Content. Context. Connections.
For more than 35 years, SIRS has encouraged dialogue and critical thinking about the major issues of our society. Today SIRS Issues Researcher continues to offer content, context, and connections to 300+ Leading Issues.
Content: Engaging content sets are actively created, selected, and presented in a manner reflective of research needs to allowing users to go from the "what's" to the "why's" of an issue.
ProQuest Editors compile content from more than 1,800 global full-text, statistical, online, and multimedia sources.
Context: View the issues in context with a clear, editorially-organized structure that helps you pick a topic and understand its historical origins, related issues, global perspectives, and the essential questions under debate.
Connections: Connect to comprehensive online tools that help you engage in meaningful "21st-century learning." (Video overview.)
Use visual browse, collaborative aids, like social bookmarking and note organizers, to identify, discuss and share ideas. Use research tools, like critical thinking questions and media streams, to create, present, and debate.

Support Tools & More @ All-new proquestk12.com
Summer is one of our busiest seasons here at ProQuest headquarters. After talking with teachers and librarians at recent national conferences, we set to work making our central proquestk12.com support website easier to use and revised a number of items, including:
Handy Home Page: You said our home page was too busy. We agreed! The new entry page is cleaner, clearer, and offers an interactive calendar for our free web training sessions and live @ProQuest Twitter feed. Give it a try, and let the new large images scroll to see what's new.
Standards-Linked Lessons Plans: Revised for 2010! Developed by experienced educators with subject-matter expertise, these activities have been aligned to national standards and developed for four grade levels and four subject areas. Activities now address all of our major databases, making this a must-download set of free lesson plans.
21st Century Skills Addressed: How do ProQuest research tools help schools meet the needs of 21st Century learners? Our new video explains. (A number of new videos went live this summer.)
